Description

Enterprises qualify as micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) if they fulfil the criteria laid down in the Recommendation which are summarized in the table below:

medium-sized <250 <= 50 million Euros or <= 43 million
small-sized <50 <= 10 million Euros or <= 10 million
micro-sized <10 <= 2 million Euros or <= 2 million

About SMEs
  • Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are socially and economically important, since they represent 99 % of all enterprises in the EU.
  • They provide around 65 million jobs and contribute to entrepreneurship and innovation.
